STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – SCORE-Staten Island will provide small business owners with “Smart Ways to Deal With Bankers, and Understanding Financial Statements” during a webinar scheduled for Sept. 22, 10 a.m. to noon.

The free workshop, presented in collaboration with the practice of certified public accountant Doreen M. Inserra and the Independent Association of Accountants of Staten Island, is sponsored by Richmond County Savings Bank (a division of New York Community Bank, member FDIC).

The informative workshop will feature two experts in the field of finance: SCORE-certified business mentor John J. Amodio, chairman of SCORE-Staten Island, and Certified Financial Planner® and CPA Frank J. DeCandido, president, Staten Island Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

The webinar will provide a checklist of tips to help bridge the gap that may be separating business owners from their bank and banker; explain the “6 C’s of business credit,” factors lenders customarily consider when determining the credit worthiness of the borrower; spotlight the information needed to acquire a bank loan; offer guidance on the understanding and use of financial statements, and explain the income “profit & loss” statement, cash flow statement, balance sheet, breakeven analysis, benchmarking and financial ratios.

For qualified attendees needing CE/CPE credits, two-hour CE/CPE in accounting and tax are available for a nonrefundable $30 cost. Certificates will only be issued to attendees after submitting an evaluation and sign-off provided at the end of the program. Course names and numbers will be included on the evaluation form.)
