STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A prominent Staten Island business is on a quest to identify the “10 Most Influential Staten Islanders.”
Relevant Public Relations launched a Web-based campaign on May 14 to determine which Islanders carry the greatest clout. The election, marketed almost entirely on Facebook. Twitter and LinkedIn, will conclude on May 28, at 9 p.m.
“The election is placing highly worthy individuals in the spotlight. It’s a lot of fun, and it’s giving everyone involved an opportunity to experience the growing influence of social-media sites upon grass-roots initiatives,” said Barton Horowitz, Relevant’s founder and president.
Voters have the option of nominating one or more individuals for the distinguished list, with every nomination being counted as a vote; or they may vote for one or more of the candidates listed on the Relevant Public Relations Facebook page.
