STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (Oct. 29, 2018)– If you own or manage a business, the adequacy of your cybersecurity should be a major concern. According to the FBI, the collective impact of cyber intrusions is staggering.
Hackers have taken down vital systems, disrupting and sometimes disabling the work of hospitals, banks, and 9-1-1 services around the country – and the Staten Island small-business community is not exempt from the threat. To assist local entrepreneurs in evaluating and, if needed, ramping up their cybersecurity measures, SCORE-Staten Island will be hosting a “Cyber Security for Business” workshop Thursday, Nov. 15.
The free “lunch and learn” event will be presented by cybersecurity authority Patrick Buono, president and CEO of Staten Island-based Aurora Computer Technology and one of the New York Metro area’s foremost experts in information technology and cyber-data protection.
The educational workshop will address a variety of vital topics, such as Security Awareness; Cyber Attacks You’re Likely to Face, and Policies and Practices for Prevention and Recovery.
WHERE AND WHEN
The workshop will be presented Thursday, Nov. 15, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at SCORE-Staten Island headquarters, fourth floor of the Staten Island Advance Building, 950 West Fingerboard Road, Grasmere.
