The bank’s “Furr Our Furry Friends” campaign aims to help Staten Island’s population of homeless animals.
Through the end of the month, all Victory State Bank locations will be accepting contributions for allocation to local animal shelters.
“We are collecting monetary donations, as well as food, toys, collars, leashes, blankets and other pet essentials,” said Victory State Bank customer service representative Jennifer Jensen.
Island’s Only Community-Based Commercial Bank
Victory State Bank, Staten Island’s only community-based commercial bank, operates five full-service locations in the borough — the main office in Great Kills, and branches in West Brighton, St. George, Dongan Hills and Rosebank.
The “Furr Our Furry Friends” initiative began earlier in October under the leadership of Ms. Jensen and her colleagues, Anna Williams, Victory State Bank vice president and Community Reinvestment Act officer, and Tracie Diggs, community development officer.
“A number of Victory State Bank employees have adopted or rescued dogs and cats, and appreciate how terrific a former shelter pet can be,” said Ralph Branca, president and CEO of Victory State Bank. “In addition to helping the shelters, it’s our hope this campaign will spark further interest in adopting these special animals.”
All contributions will be distributed to the Staten Island Animal Care and Control Center, Charleston, and other Island animal rescue and care groups coping with cutbacks in government funding.
