Flagstar Bank–sponsored workshop to highlight critical HR compliance issues

STATEN ISLAND, NY. – SCORE-Staten Island will be presenting a free, live Zoom webinar designed to help business owners, Human Resources (HR) professionals, and managers navigate the complex world of HR compliance. Titled “Essential Human Resources Compliance Topics,” the informative session sponsored by Flagstar Bank will take place Thursday, June 12, 1 to 2 p.m.

The online workshop will be led by seasoned Human Resources Consultant Karen Hall of PAYCHEX, who will provide a high-level overview of key HR compliance areas. Hall, with more than 25 years of experience in employee relations, recruiting, training, and compliance, is a Society of Human Resource Management Certified Professional will bring practical insight and proven strategies to this must-attend event.

Topics to be covered include:

• U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Form I-9 requirements
• Federal and state wage and hour law compliance
• Leave of absence management and applicable laws
• Employee misclassification risks and consequences
• Conducting workplace investigations related to harassment, discrimination, or discipline
• Guidelines for effective employee discipline and termination

The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer segment.
