STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (March 12, 2019) – A free workshop March 26 presented by SCORE-Staten Island, in partnership with MassMutual, will focus on a vital concern often overlooked by business owners: Having plans in place for exiting their businesses — either by choice, or involuntarily.
During the “Simple Steps for Exiting Your Business” workshop, Ronald C. Scott of MassMutual will discuss how to plan for the future of your business, as well as your own. Scott has earned a variety of distinctions that include: Certified financial planner, accredited estate planner; chartered financial consultant, andchartered life underwriter.
The workshop will include programming on succession-, retirement- and estate-planning, highlighting such topics as Business Valuation; Choosing the Appropriate Successor; Exit Strategies; Retirement Planning Options, and Leaving a Legacy. SCORE-Staten Island business experts will additionally offer free personalized and confidential mentoring sessions in conjunction with the seminar.
The educational event will be held Tuesday, March 26, 1 to 3 p.m., at SCORE-Staten Island headquarters, fourth floor of the Staten Island Advance Building, 950 West Fingerboard Road, Grasmere.
“This workshop will provide attendees with a variety of perspectives on preparing for the next stage of their small business,” said John J. Amodio, chairman of SCORE-Staten Island. “The pros and cons of each scenario will be discussed, helping small business owners acquire the information they need to plan a future that best suits their situation.”
