Report: Staten Island Home Prices Continue to Tick Upward
September 16, 2026Retro-themed restaurant to welcome Staten Islanders on September 19 with special activities, entertainment and family fun
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – 8-Bit Bites, an expanding fast-food franchise restaurant brand known for serving high-quality comfort foods in a fun-filled retro-gaming environment, will celebrate the grand opening of its newest Staten Island location on Saturday, Sept. 19.
Situated at 2175 Hylan Blvd., in the borough’s Grant City community, the eatery is an alluring destination for Islanders of all ages, providing ’80s music, affordable prices, daily specials, and free classic video games right at your table.

FUN-FILLED EXPERIENCE
The celebration, running from noon to 6 p.m., will include a variety of special features, such as: A professional DJ; live action-characters; two complimentary chicken tenders for each of the first 100 families, or individual guests; a professional videographer/photographer team to capture the festivities, and more.
John Ghaly, owner and operator of the new Island location, said the grand opening is an opportunity to introduce the 8-Bit Bites experience to families and individuals in Grant City, and beyond.
“I am incredibly excited to celebrate the opening of my second 8-Bit Bites restaurant on Staten Island and to welcome our neighbors to a place where great food, fun, community, and a touch of nostalgia come together,” said Ghaly, who opened a smaller version of the franchise in April at 1419 Forest Ave., Port Richmond. “My team and I look forward to creating a memorable experience for our guests in Grant City, and to our restaurant becoming a favorite gathering spot that families, friends and people of all ages can enjoy.”
APPEALING MENU AND ATMOSPHERE
The 8-Bit Bites concept combines retro-inspired décor and gaming with a menu of comfort-food favorites, some with a creative twist. The restaurant transports customers back to the nostalgia of the 1980s and 1990s while serving a variety of delightful food options.
The menu includes smash burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, tenders, wings, loaded sides, tots and milkshakes, among other offerings. The restaurant’s Grant City location also offers gaming and party options, making it a destination for families, friends and groups.
Reflecting the dedication to community embraced by Ali Ahmed, founder of the 8-Bit Bites chain, Ghaly is eager for his newest restaurant to illustrate his own commitment to supporting his fellow Staten Islanders.
“My Grant City restaurant already has begun hosting get-togethers and fundraising events for local schools, houses of worship, community groups and charitable organizations – and I’m looking forward to meeting and working with many more of our neighbors who are looking for an affordable, entertaining and satisfying venue for their organization, or family milestone events.”
Local organizations and others seeking to contact the Grant City venue may call 718-744-6044, and are encouraged to visit the restaurant’s Facebook page for updates: 8-Bit Bites Staten Island.
